Alphasights - Ruby on Rails Developer

This is a permanent role, based in London, posted June 22, 2012.

London (Mayfair)

We are looking for web application developers to strengthen our team. You don't need commercial Ruby on Rails experience, but you must be able to demonstrate a history of seeking out best practices in web development.

What we look for

• A passion for web application development
• A degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
• An understanding of the importance of a maintainable code base
• Familiarity with dynamic languages, version control, test driven development and the command line

How we work

We enjoy the freedom to make design decisions and pick the right technology. We manage our own time and take responsibility for seeing features to completion. Pair programing, refactoring and automated testing are all part of our daily workflow.

We allow time to learn new technologies, work on open source contributions and attend conferences.

Shiny 27" iMac, Ruby 1.9.3, Rails 3.2, CoffeeScript, jQuery, RSpec, Capybara, Sunspot, Heroku, Pusher, S3, Rackspace Cloud, git, PostgreSQL 9.1, MongoDB, HAML, SASS.
