Job title: Software Developer Expert

Description of the role:
The candidate will be working on the development of our core products and services across a variety of technologies and business areas including SMS, MMS, Location Based Services, IVR/Telephony, Video and Bespoke Application Development.
As a member of the tightly integrated technical team, work involves leading in the following areas: design, development, support and maintenance of existing and new projects both internally (on our core systems), and in a client-facing capacity (under our Application Development offering).

Responsibilities
Leading and supporting the technical team in the following areas:
? Technical implementation, testing and deployment of systems
? Maintaining a clean and flexible code base so that new functionality can be delivered quickly and safely
? Requirements capture and design for the development of new features
? Investigation and resolution of complex operational issues
? Ensuring that systems are fit for purpose including unit, system and integration testing
? Delivery of production ready features early and often

Skills and Experience
Successful candidates will satisfy most of the following requirements:
? 5-7 years proven experience working in similar environment
? A Computer Science, Maths or Engineering degree from a top class university
? Practical experience of Java, ideally with exposure to open source libraries such as Spring and Hibernate.
? Experience of XP practices such as TDD, pair programming and refactoring.
? Ability to work responsively, building prototypes quickly and evolving these into scalable production-quality systems.
? Demonstrable knowledge of Linux, HTML with CSS, databases and standard development tools.
? Involvement with open source or hobby projects.
